Computational modeling, social systems, and agent-based thinking.

Social Complexity Insights is a space for exploring how complex social phenomena might be understood through computational modeling — especially agent-based approaches.

My background is in Computer Applied Technology, with research experience in data center resource management, embedded AI systems, and heterogeneous processor architecture simulation. I am not yet a social scientist, and I make no claim to be. But I find myself increasingly drawn to questions that computation alone cannot answer: how norms emerge, how institutions persist, how coordination breaks down or holds together.

This blog is where I think out loud.

I write from two intersecting angles:

  • As a social observer, I notice patterns in how incentives, norms, and institutions shape everyday behavior — often in ways that feel underexplored from a modeling perspective.
  • As someone trained in systems thinking, I am curious whether the tools I know — simulation, optimization, formal modeling — could be brought to bear on those observations in meaningful ways.

My long-term interest is to move toward computational social science in a genuine way: not just as a technical exercise, but as a real contribution to understanding collective behavior. I do not know yet exactly what that path looks like. This blog is part of figuring that out.
